Jorge Ferrer, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President of Clinical Research and Strategy
Jorge joined Lumicell in 2009. In his role as Senior Vice President of Clinical Research and Strategy, he leads the company's clinical research and strategy for the cancer applications and oversees the work with academic collaborators conducting clinical studies, as well as manages the company’s regulatory strategy and preparation of communications and reporting to the FDA. Before heading the clinical efforts, Jorge co-developed Lumicell’s optical imaging agent, LUMISIGHT™, as Senior Director of R&D at Lumicell. He co-developed Lumicell’s prototype of the Lumicell Direct Visualization System™ (DVS) during his post-doctoral tenure with Dr. Moungi Bawendi at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to his post-graduate studies, Jorge worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Texas Instruments. He holds a doctorate in biological engineering and a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez.
